GRADUATION GUIDELINES
A. Guidelines for candidates for graduation:
1. Full compliance w/ all academic, non-academic, and other requirements of the school/course (PE, CMT, INC, X, D, W, F-137, etc.).
2. Should have a residence in the College for at least 4 semester during last curricular year of degree being pursued.
3. Must settle all financial and property obligations with the college.
4. Must submit application for graduation on or before the prescribed date.
5. The Special Assistant to the President/College Administrator must approved the eligibility for graduation. There is no Special Order (S.O) issued to the graduate of government/state/colleges/universities.
6. No student should be awarded the diploma, title or degree until his eligibility to receive the same has been certified by the College Registrar and approved by the Special Assistant to the President.
7. Candidates w/ honors in the different courses should not have failed in any subjects.
8. He/She must be of good moral character and should have no disciplinary records.
9. Students who complete their courses w/ the following absolute minimum weighted average grades shall graduate w/ honors:

Summa Cum Laude Weighted Average 1. 25 – 1.00 W/ no grades lower than 1.50
Magna Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.50 – 1.26 W/ no grades lower than 1.75
Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.75 – 1.51 W/ no grades lower than 2.00
10. Graduating students who will not meet the above grade requirements and other non-graduating honor students may be given due recognition during a special Recognition Day.
B. Guidelines for Graduation w/ Academic honors
1. Upon meeting the required general weighted average for the Latin Honors, The student applies for it directly w/ the college registrar, who in turn verifies the grades in accordance to the following General weighted Average of all academic subjects:

Summa Cum Laude Weighted Average 1. 25 – 1.00 W/ no grades lower than 1.50
Magna Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.50 – 1.26 W/ no grades lower than 1.75
Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.75 – 1.51 W/ no grades lower than 2.00
B. guidelines for graduation with academic honors1.upon meeting the required general weighted average for Latin Honors, the student applies for it directly with the college registrar, who in turn verifies the grades in accordance to the following General Weighted Average of all academic subjects.
Ranking Summa Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.25-1.00 W/ No grades lowers than 1.50 Magna Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.50-1.26 W/ No grades lowers than 1.75 Cum Laude Weighted Average 1.75-1.51 W/ No grades lowers than 2.00 2. The college registrar shall verify if the candidate has satisfied the following.
A. completed the course in NPC in not more than the number of required units for the course.
B. earned all academic units at NPC for the last 3 years.
C. has no final marks of 5.0, inc, W in any subject and any course started.
D. carried not less than 18 units academic load each semester.
However, during the last semester where there is internship and lesser loads given to a graduating student, he/she shall be exempted for this ruling.
E. has not been subjected to any disciplinary action.
3.Upon verification of needed document/papers; the application is passed on the Committee on Awards for further verification, review and recommendation.
All grades in the subjects prescribed in the curriculum as well as the subjects that qualify, as electives shall be included in the computation of the weighted average grade except NSTP (ROTC). Candidates for graduation with honors must complete in the college at least 75% of the total number of academic units or hours for graduation and must have been in residence there in for at least two years immediately prior to the graduation.
C. Graduation Committee on Awards.
This committee shall be composed of the Guidance Counselor as Chairman with the Mathematics Department Chairman, College Accountant, OIC, Student Service and President of the Faculty Club as member. D, Commencement Exercise.
Commencement is held every end of the second semester. Students who are unable to attend the commencement exercise on ground of sickness and other serious reasons must submit a request for graduation in absentia to the Office of the Special Assistant to the President/College Administrator. They shall obtain their diploma and transcript of records from the office of the Registrar upon presentation of the approved request for graduation fee and submission of clearance. |
